I have really had a gutful of PCs when it comes to sequencing. They do deliver somre really top stuff, but accurate timing has always been a real downer for me. I have been using computer sequencing for the last 10 years and I have NEVER been happy with it. You can always hear inaccuracies in playback, I even considered going back to the Atari ST as it is the only computer I have ever used with rock solid timing (how utterly ironic in this complicated computer mad world we live in!)

What a breath of fresh air the MPC1000 is, it is so musical!! The timing is so rock solid, I feel a new level of satisfaction over my PC. Now the only thing I use Cubase sequencing for is so I can sample soft synths and f*ck them up with the MPC. The other thing I love is that you dont have to sit and listen to case and CPU fans whirring away when you fancy a jam with it. It really is something else!!

My timing was suspect also untill I got a MOTU Timepiece. After that, my comp hasn't skipped a beat since.

I just got the 1000 myself....I was a little dissapointed that I couldn't turn it into the slave perc box for Cubase that I had envisioned, but I can see that this lemon will make lemonade and make me create beats in a whole new way.....I welcome the challenge! 8)

The advantage of the MPC is you dont have to worry about it. You don't have to fix bugs (well, not really) and you can know that every time you power it up it's gonna jam. It is an instrument you can play, as opposed to it playing you.

computers for recording tracks, equipment for producing beats.
