I have really had a gutful of PCs when it comes to sequencing. They do deliver somre really top stuff, but accurate timing has always been a real downer for me. I have been using computer sequencing for the last 10 years and I have NEVER been happy with it. You can always hear inaccuracies in playback, I even considered going back to the Atari ST as it is the only computer I have ever used with rock solid timing (how utterly ironic in this complicated computer mad world we live in!)
What a breath of fresh air the MPC1000 is, it is so musical!! The timing is so rock solid, I feel a new level of satisfaction over my PC. Now the only thing I use Cubase sequencing for is so I can sample soft synths and f*ck them up with the MPC. The other thing I love is that you dont have to sit and listen to case and CPU fans whirring away when you fancy a jam with it. It really is something else!!
