PLEEAZZE HELPP TRYING TO FIGURE OUT EFFECTS ON SEQUENCES!

Is there a way to add an effect to a certain sequence w/ it affecting the whole song or track??? I just want a flanger applied to four bars but every time I apply the effect it continues on the whole song????

Automation I guess would help you.
Put the flanger to everything then autamet when it gets in and when it is out
