I'm loving the Ren now to the point that I stopped seriously considering buying another 3000... (not that I don't check them out on ebay from time to time!)

But, I'm not ready to ditch hardware synths, like Integra and Virus, yet.

The problem with these synths is they don't really work as plug ins inside the MPC software (I've been on the phone with Access and all they can say is the MPC Daw is not supported).

What is the best way to track those with the Ren and line them up in the DAW (Logic)?

For the MPC, I can just save the tracks as audio, which is great, but what's the best way to track / line up the hardware synth tracks, that is, without opening Ren as a plug in inside Logic.

Options I've considered are getting a second computer and recording it like a traditional MPC, but is there a better way?

I use my synths as plugins like kontakt with midi tracks, then I record the parts and replace them, still mantain the midi in case I want to make changes.
I use like that a KS-Rack and a basstation2
With 1.7+ you can record it on the fly to with direct record...but that way you would not have the chance to change the midi notes if needed, and everything is going down to your skills as a keyboardist.

You record the audio into the MPC and play them as samples from the pads?

yes.
I record my loop and assign it to a pad and add a single midi note for that pad. and silence the midi track for my synth

U sould use the ren as a plugin inside ur daw and track the synths inside ur daw.

The virus plugin is hella buggy. use it standalone
