I dont get my Head around this.

Could i simply Save Sounds from Mac to my cf card (no prob) Plug it into the non hotswap cf drive on mysoon to get 2kxl, and Send Those Sounds to the zip drive (without limiation of 30mb Sampler ram?)??? Or at least with this limiation?

I would like to use a zip as Sound Library While saving vinyl Samples and made sequences etc to the cf card?

That the Way?

Sounds get loaded from drives/readers to/from ram.
Not device to device. That's all you get.

You can load them into the MPC RAM from the CF card, then save them from the MPC RAM onto Zip disk.

Best use for a Zip drive though is to fill your bin, make sure you have things on it backed up for when it fails.

Is your CF drive a hot swap model?
I'm not as anti Zip as many on here but why not cut out the middleman and just use a separate CF card as your library?
Would save a lot of hassle and grief. :-)

When I had internal 2kxl zip I also had external usb zip for computer. I always formatted my zips on pc using FAT. I kept my library on pc and transfered via several zips, no problems.

When I changed to internal 2kxl ATAPI mcd I also used an external usb mcd reader for pc, again, my library on pc was easily accessible, never skipped a "beat"

dont have it yet but probably non-hotswap.

i would have another (non hotswap) cf drive external but thought i should sell that if i get the XL, i dont like to sit on too much cash in gear. interferes with my creativity.

but i see the logic behind the responses so thanks!
