External Sequencing Questions

Hi,

Is it possible to sequence multiple external synthesizers from the MPC500 by daisychaining? Is it also possible to use the MPC500 as the master clock for all of my synthesizers in the chain as well as my drum machine? I'm not quite familiar with daisychaining and how to set it all up with multiple synths so could anyone explain how that is done?

Seems simple enough. Thank you! A patch is just a sequence then basically? Or is that something different? Not quite familiar with the MPC's architecture as I used to use a PC.

I'm saving up for a Juno 106 at the moment as they're a lot cheaper than a Juno 60 but I am sure that you can do something like this with the amount of MIDI capabilities that the synth has:


Is it possible to achieve something like that with the MPC 500 sequencing the 106? I think you'd have to go into some sort of STEP mode and put in the separate notes with some rests but is that possible on the 500? Or maybe someone on here can suggest the easiest way to achieve something similar to the above?

Yes.

You could use Step Edit Mode, put the notes where you want them. No rests required in an MPC sequence, notes play where you put them, nothing plays where there are no notes.

Probably easier to play the notes on the MPC pads, or on the keys of a MIDI keyboard connected to the MPC MIDI input (such as the 106).
