file too big @OS XL2 load

go ahead and yell at me and say stuff like RTFM. that's all good. just tell me why when i try to load OS XL2 on my 1000 (60 gig HD, 128MB upgrade, using a 4GB SanDisk CF card) currently on a free version of JJ OS1 Version 5, i keep on getting file too big. whether from a CF card or from my Mac, i get the same message. whether i load it from my Mac to the card, from my Mac to the HD, or loading it from the CF card, i get the same message. when i look at the card from a reader or just from the Mac, it sees 1.4 MB, the MPC only sees 1 MB., but always always says the file is too big

i will STFU now, i have embraced many new acronyms while on this forum.

strange. download the package again. sounds like its corrupt

On MAC you have to "save as" the file, otherwise it saves it wrong.

so
i go on the jj os web site (Mac), click on download of the the OS. it opens up a window
that says "save file", there are no options, that is it. i click on it, to save it to desktop. it opens up a new dialogue box that says save, again no other option. i click on save, it saves a .0s2 OS on my desktop. i get rid of .OS2 on and add .bin which seems to work somewhat.

on the mpc i hit load / usb / do it to get the OS file onto the HD. i never see where i have the chance to do a save as, that option never shows up. i just tried going right from the web site to the HD. it seems to change to OS file to a bin file, but still gives a file too big message.

all i want to do is to download OS2XL so i can purchase it and go back to using OS1. i made the decision to buy OS2XL so i have a license for OS1, OS2 and OS2XL and go back and forth between OS's.

i will now STFU and maybe RTFM a bit more

OS1 Version 5 is not a free version, it is a paid version.

Have you tried following the instructions on the website?

Please install OS2XL from the load mode of free JJ OS Ver3.16.

...have you tried installing it from the free version, JJOS Version 3.16, and left the file extension as .os2?

honest injun, i read and reread stuff on jj's site, the sticky on this forum, and perusing stuff this forum as well pertaining to OS's. i will read some more

- Install JJOS Free Version 3.16
- Install JJOS OS2XL, using mpc1000_xl345.os2 file

Please install OS2XL from the load mode of free JJ OS Ver3.16.

that was it. had this feeling it was something like that. but on JJ's site it did not jump out and tell me to use the free OS as a launching platform to install / buy the other OS's
