Question about Soundcraft EPM8 8 mixer

so fellas i need advice. I'm looking for mixer which will be implement in my setup (S950 ,mpc2000 and turntable with mixer) People tell me to check soundcrafts. So I checked them and i liked EPM 8.
So my question is do someone here is using soundcraft epm mixer ? I need opinions about quality of these mixers.
I hvan one more question. I never used mixer to computer connection thing. So my question is how to do that. I am sure that it could possible to wire mixer out to computer sound card Line in or Mic but im not sure about quality of the sound, even if the sound card is good. Still this is an option. Any suggestions and opinion will be helpfull. Thank you !

The soundcraft is nice most likely. Paying more for a mid-level model from their range will get you better quality most likely. You buy entry level price, you get entry level equivalent of sound quality.

You could buy a mixer with something like a firewire interface (like the mackie onyx 1640i that i recommended to you, you can get it used i'm sure), then you don't have to record the audio from the mixer to the computer over an analog signal path. Otherwise you'll have to connect some output of the mixer (stereo out, speaker out, control room out, etc.) to the soundcard of your computer with a matching cable.

We can answer your questions a million times. At some point you have to make a decision yourself, buy a mixer, and start plugging in cables and read the manuals.

with respect to you man ( and thank you for your answers in my other topic) no offence but man I am asking do someone got soundcraft mixer from EPM series . I really dont understand you now but never mind. We are all here to discuss different topics and to help each others right? So in my other topic we speak for completely different topic and you suggested me mackie or A&H or soundcraft mixer. So i checked them. Didn't like mackie (my opinion). Checked A&H and soundcraft and i prefer soundcraft. I checked EFX series but now im interested in EPM so ... once again

I just want to hear opinions from people who already have soundcraft mixer from EPM series or people who used EPM mixer.

SO on topic... opinions from people who are using EPM or who used EPM in past ?

What i was trying to say was...

Soundcraft is a good brand of mixers, you will find them in a lot of event companies doing live stuff.

Same for A&H, Mackie, etc... they are all reputable brands.

Their entry level stuff will sound similar, their mid-range stuff will sound similar, etc... between those brands you really can't go wrong and sound differences will be small and more depend on individual taste (maybe you'll like the EQs of soundcraft more than the Mackie EQs and vice versa).

Everybody who owns a Soundcraft board will tell you they sound awesome. Everyone who owns a Mackie will tell you they sound awesome... people always recommend the gear they own until they make their next purchase, then they will recommend whatever they upgraded to.

In the end it's also down to features. Maybe the Soundcraft offers a feature you won't have on the Mackie equivalent, etc.

Only you can decide in the end. And if you want to be sure of your purchase, you'll have to find a way to test out and compare the different brands to find out which sound you like / prefer. Again, nobody can decide that for you, people will just recommend exactly what they own (i'm saying that based on reading online producer forums since 2008, no exception, people recommend what they own themself, always).

ok maybe i am asking this question because i have something on my mind. In one of the shops that i visited the owner told me that the only problem with EPM is that after some time main out have noise. This noise is not in every mixer its about some kind of bad parts from one of the electronic manufacturer. I dont want to compare mixers anymore ok? I CHOSE mixer already. Ok ?

But now i am just asking people who are owners of soundcraft EPMs or people who used them int past. Opinions from such people are important for me because these people are using or used these mixers.

man this conversation is pointless and i really cant understand what is your point. I know that my english is not so good but man... im sure that i am asking my question clearly and good. Nevermind.

Well, i answered your question regarding connecting the mixer to your computer soundcard, didn't i?

Quality is good with soundcraft, like the other mentioned brands (an event company i do work with sometimes swears by them for being reliable).

Mixers break. My Mackie had one noisy channel after 1 year. The guy i work with had to repair some of his Mackie mixers, some of his SC mixers, some of his A&H mixers.... you get the idea? They are all good, they all break if you're unlucky. They are all better than Behringer (which break a lot).

Again, people will tell you the gear they own is good. Until it breaks, then they will say it's not reliable.

You could simply google reviews and read what people say about the EPM models.

I have no problem with you. I tried to answer your questions. I actually answered them, in your previous thread too.

I just felt like you keep asking the same questions, even after getting answers. Sorry if it offended you that i mentioned this observation of mine. Won't give anymore advice to you, don't worry. Good luck with your setup.

I had the EPM6 which is essentially the same as the EPM8 minus two channels.
It's a good and clean sounding cool little mixer with sweet sounding EQs.

Right now I still have a biga$$ Mackie Onyx 32.4 that I will sell after I have drastically reduced my setup to a minimum. I will get another EPM then.. probably an EPM12.
