ASRX and MPC 2000XL have different file formats & sample rates
ASRX saves AIFF files and, because of some odd software programming, saves at a sample rate of
44,082 hzMPC2000XL saves PCM WAV files at a sample rate of
44.,100 hzThe MPC cannot load/read AIFFs, the ASRX cannot load Wav files..
Chicken Systems translator is very buggy and frequently crashes. That's why I never actually bought it. Even the latest demo version crashes when trying to do some conversions.
Anyway, the best and easiest way to convert would be to use 2KXL - a free program that allows you to create MPC 2000xl *.PGM (program) files by dropping and dragging samples to the pads on your computer. You can then save these to a disk (zip, floppy or compact flash) to load in your MPC

1. Copy sounds from your ASRX on to your computer.
2. Load in soundforge (or equivalent audio editing software) and use the resample tool to change the sample rate to 441000 hz and save as a 16-bit wav. You can use the bulk process function to resample all the files at once.
3. Load the converted samples into 2KXL and drag to the pads. Save the program & sounds to your media (zip/floppy/cf)
4. Load the program on the MPC
There is a workaround for global pitch.. sort of. Turn on 16 levels. Then when you adjust pitch up/down it will change all the pads. I think this only works for one sample though.. But it can be useful to transpose if you need to find the right notes for your bassline, for example..
