Problem with samples

hello everyone! I'm Laura from Italy! I have a big problem! i bought an used mpc 500 and i don' know if it's broken! I managed to load samples after several attempts but i can hear the sounds only during the preview and when i listen to their recording , but not when i press the chosen pad! Am i doing something wrong?!! i hope so!!!!! thanks!

After sampling, did you assign the samples to the pads?

You can do it after recording some sounds or in LOAD mode. The samples will not sound on a pad if you don't assign them to the desired bank and pad. If you assign samples to OF, then the sample goes straight to the compact flash card. But if you assign them to A1 through D12, then they will appear on the pads. But remember to save, save, save after you feel the samples are good for you.

As a reminder, by default, programs will always set the volume of the samples of each pad to 70. So be sure to go into PROGRAM MODE and adjust the volume of each pad to 100 if you want it loud as its heard in previews.

Oh, when you save I recommend saving as PROGRAM AND SAMPLES. That has worked flawlessly with me.

One other possibility if you have already tried all the things mentioned, Press Mode + Pad 7 (MIDI/SYNC) then scroll over to PAD TO SAMPLER. Make sure this is set to ON.
