Hi all, just wanting some help/ answers to specific questions I can't find the answers to!
(I did try and make this post as short as I could!)
I want to move from scratching to producing. I've been playing around with logic, but I am going to get an mpc1000 when one becomes available with JJOS, at a decent price.
I have a crappy numark mixer that I've used for a while but would like to upgrade to a new one, I just need help on which one for this setup. I would like to work completely away from the computer and I have a half decent vinyl collection so am going to try and sample from that. A turntable, mpc, mixer +monitors. (the monitors and tt I have)
First of all quickly, with my monitors (rokit) would they connect into the mpc or the mixer if I wanted to hear both my mpc and turntable sound through them? And with either, which cables go from mpc to mixer/ or mixer to mpc?
Secondly, the general cable setup and mixer choice. From looking at some forums it seems simpler to sample from tt to mpc if the mixer has a record output? As a result I was looking at the A&H xone23. (If anyone can recommend another good mixer that possibly has an aux in as well as record out + enough channels)
I presume with this that the tt connects to phono in on the mixer, the record out on the mixer connects to the record in on the mpc, but like with the monitor question previousy would cables then have to go back from the mpc to the mixer if I wanted to hear both mpc and tt sound through my monitors?
I just need to be sure I'm buying a mixer that is good for this setup as I don't want to have to be buying another mixer down the line.
Cheers for any help, and yes I have read though a lot of forums but I can't find any that answer my specific questions, and as I don't have the mpc yet I can't 'rtfm'
