Hey there

I hooked myself up with a new synth!
Im not experienced when it comes to midi, i only use to run with usb.

The problem is, I've got it connected like -
midi out from my mpk, to midi in on the synth. My Mpk is connected to the usb slot in the back of the Renaissance. I don't even get a midi signal on the Blofeld
I use the Ren as soundcard, and I'm on a imac

Cant get this to work, any ideas?
And yea, it works in Logic pro X without any problems.

Thank you

When the MPK is connected to a computer via USB, I don't think it's keyboard sends MIDI through the MIDI ports, the MIDI ports become an additional MIDI interface on the connected computer.

The Renaissance USB ports are just a USB hub for the computer that the Renaissance is connected to, so by connecting the MPK to the Renaissance USB port, you are really just connecting it to the computer.

You should be able to load the MPK driver on the computer, if it has one, and then use it as a MIDI input for MPC Software over the USB connection. Make sure that the MPK appears in the MPC Software Preferences/MIDI window as an Active MIDI input, and that it is ticked/selected.

Otherwise, if you do want to use the MIDI output port of the MPK, rather than USB-MIDI, from the MPK keyboard, you might need to power it via an external power adapter, and not connect it to the computer/Renaissance via USB.

hey man,

I have my MPK mini connected via the Ren USB port. Waldorf Blofeld connected via Ren MIDI OUT (any port A-D) to MIDI IN of the Blofeld.
In Ren settings/preferences, set the MPK as an 'active midi input' and select Midi Out Ports A-D to the blofeld( whichever your Blofeld is attached to).
Select a Midi track on the Ren, make sure the Ch: setting is the same as the Blofeld and you should be good to go.

Also, make sure this set up is reflected in the audio/midi set up on the mac. The way you had it set up was wrong. Good luck
