Free running LFO?

Hey!

Is there no way to stop LFOs from reseting every time you retrigger the pad? On the MPC Ren that is.

Let's say you want to assign the LFO to filter to create some life and movement on a sound – maybe a bass. You play it percussively, repeatedly, short hits – it sounds way, way more "natural" if the LFO runs freely instead of always starting the same way. Sounds very "machiney" if every hit sounds exactly the same.

I think you can do it with the factory filter plugins. I'm going to start using this technique because I read that the brain stops listening when music repeats exactly.
