I have received a number of inquiries into the possibility of selling OR programming a new design as we had intended. The decisions over the next few weeks will determine the fate of the product.
Also, the design is entirely owned by us. Any prior agreements were for the purpose of sales and distribution and the limitations have since lapsed.

That was after my second contact with inquirie. Im not sure, it took nearly 10 days for a responce. After the 10 days I sent a final messege saying I would take that as already concluded. Only after did we dialogue.

After all the back and fourth of different information, the group of us who were orginally prepaired to make a purchace are a bit skeptical.

Im not quite decided anymore. He was willing to provide good information in terms of the sale and detail of the issues, among many other things.

I'm being told its a show of face to get people to back off, save his name. Im not too quick to discredit him. Im still slightly interested. Hoping the rest of the group still is. But not looking like it so much anymore.

Had a responce come (was seen 30min after inquire) within 5 days at least, it would of been a done deal already.

I do hope these offers are real. And hope he accepts them.

And before the dissing of him starts, maybe it was a failure in terms of not working in the end, but he (or whoever, this is partly the problem of confusion) got a lot further then anyone else.

More details in the coming weeks. The display manufacturing have a 6 week lead time which puts us in the Feb-March time frame after the programming / physical design is finalized.

been lurking here for a long time. based on what i've read here and elsewhere on the net Envision has a history of poor communication. every few months people get their hopes up about a new lcd and then nothing comes of it, he disappears etc..
best bet is to track down a dps12. i got a perfect lcd out of one a few months back. paid $20. holding on to that until my current lcd dies.

It's all old news. Plus they did eventually release a product, but failed to actually work. It's believed that because of the corners cut in production and development (of the 2000/2000XL) made them all a bit sparataic. So there would be no way to tell from the start how it would work across so many units. (Other posts I read said it was just a bit of lag in the screen)

The DPS12 is also pretty well known about.

Now the source code and schematics are for sale apparently (Is what this post is about). A lot of people are feeling like it's just a show of face, damage control really. Others think it's to get people to quit hurrassing him about buying an LCD.

I think they were only out quite some time ago. Maybe 4 years ago. I'm not sure, I didn't even have an MPC that long ago.

i get ya - i was just commenting on StarOnes post that the guy had gone quiet after making arrangements to sell the schematics (making potential buyers/investors wary), apparently. again, my reading of the Envision LCD replacement project is that there is a lot of talk but only a few hundred LCDs ever made (with "glitches") and never a longterm viable solution offered. sure, harvesting a dps12 lcd is nothing new.. however it sure beats getting your hopes up for something that, as far as I can tell based on the lack of follow through with this project, isn't going to happen any time soon or with any degree of certainty.

edit: just realized youre starone. haha, i knew that ass-tail thing looked familiar ;p

Yeah the DPS12 thing I didn't know if you were new to MPC's and didn't know if it was well known or not. I didn't know about that for the longest.

Haha! It's just a fox tail  but I'll leave the rest of that for PM's haha!

I agree completely about getting peoples hopes up. Getting peoples hopes up to show face especially wrong.

I have almost a 2 page of list of a bunch of contradicting posts that I needed to clear up before making any purchase. But if there really are other interested parties, I'm going to let them have at it.

But like you say! All the foolishness, it's tough to believe anything. This is what had me go with everyone else on this one and have to decline. Because what is to even say we were going to get what was actually being said.
