I spent a lot hours to figure how to make an os floppy disk, and i made one with EDE but ASR-10 after loading reads error 009 reboot?. In service manual found that its a bad floppy disk and could be because machine want load some blocks.

OS floppy disk i made via my windows 7 ultimate. First i connected my old floppy drive from old pc to this one that i'm using. After that i write asr10os file to floppy that i found here: http://www.chickensys.com/kb/eps-asr/032.html. Then i did like its said there, boot up system in win98, made everything, run ede and via ede made OS floppy disk. It processed till 79 and finished and said files copied, something like that. Also, first time i tried with 1.25 os but when i tried to load it in ASR it said incompatible disk. After that i tried with other os and for all three oss that i writed in the same way said error 009 reboot?.

So do you have any idea, what am i doing right what not? Maybe could be because of my floppy drive that i connected is not 40 pin, i dont know i just red somewhere in forums that could be it, or also maybe i need to have win98, to not run from win 7. Also i was thinking to format disk via EPSDisk and to put OS via EDE, but also red that EPSDisk is not for OSs, just for instruments and other.

Sha ima! :-D Did you get this working? Or maybe someone sent you a disk.

When you make the floppy using EPS Disk you can not use USB. Has to be the 40pin inside the computer, otherwise it wont work.

$5 could have gotten you one from ebay a long time ago. :Sigh:
Seems sad to be begging for something that cheap.

If I'm not mistaken you have been asking for a disk for more than 5 weeks so that's like a dollar a week you needed to find.

I already ordered one from ebay more then 4 weeks ago and its not coming to my adress. The thing is that i'm in Bosnia, not in America, and if you read all posts maybe you will realise everything. If i get this thing work i will send you every week one dollar. Peace

Trying making a disk with a different floppy.

Also I think when I was first trying to make an OS disk, really struggling too, it didn't work on Windows 7. Kept springing errors. I spent the entire day till I got it right. Ended up using a Windows ME machine.

There is lots of different tools online with different things saying what will work and what will not.

Do you not have access to any other floppy disks you can use?

Im supprised you have not sorted it yourself yet.

Something I learned long ago is if you rely on another for a job, you are now on their time table.

Our area is not normal by herself so its not something surprisingly to me.
I tried couple of different options to make it work, but result was the same. What i learned from my research that people usually dont know what they are talking, ofcourse there is exceptions. Nevermind i will order another floppies until one reach the right destination. Peace

Finally received flopies from USA. Tried it and same happened. Error 009 - reboot?. Looked through service manual, forums etc., and realised that problem could be from power supply or analog board. Opened ASR and saw that there is additional Ram in there. Put it out, because i found out that older rev boards only accept 8 chips ram. Additional ram sticks were 2 chip, thats why i put them out. Anyway same message was shown after 5-10 seconds loading. Plan is to carry it to a local service, maybe someone would know something and how to fix it. Also, i have pictures of ASR's inside and i can post it if someone could say something more about it.
