Seems more like they are referring to 1.8 release not that ill-fated hardware unit.

There will be no Ren 2 at winter namm....To see a Ren 2 at best wont be until summer Namm!....You have 1.8 that has not dropped yet then 1.9 and then 2.0 upgrade for Ren and studio users but 2.0 will come free with Ren 2 and Studio 2....You may see a new color scheme Ren and Studio at best....Maybe and this is a Big maybe a Hardware MPC... And you can always count on Midi controller keyboards...lol...Akai always gets everybody hyped up and then it is reveled and everybody is all disappointed...We will see not getting my hopes up for anything to great!
