If raising the audio buffer settings does not help, maybe it is the same problem others seem to have with some sort of USB3 port/driver incompatibility with the Renaissance USB-Audio interface/driver.

Not sure how people are getting around this issue with new computers.

I'm getting a MacBook Pro soon and I'm switching from Windows.
I read stuff like this and I get...hesitant. Because what I have works well. Don't want to mess that up. There is probably an easy solution to his problem.

Sounds like the USB 3 doesn't play well with others problem. I had it on my audio interface and Imac, there's a lot of rumor and speculation on what, exactly is the issue. Try running through a USB 2.0 hub and then to the mac, that may help. FWIW, my interface got a driver update, and all is good now. I'd expect that Akai was already up to date on this stuff.

I'm not at my main source of links/bookmarks, but I recommend you try googling that.

And really, we've got to be beyond launching PC/MAC flamewars at this time. Cause, Win 8, can you be any worse?
