Merry Christmas everybody and sorry for bringing this up

I just downloaded the mpc editor and i am trying to export a program to my floppy and then back to my mpc 60(with 3.1 os).I am running windows XP.So i open the mpc editor i assign some .wavs to the pads and i am using the "export programs and samples " command to export the files in a windows formated floppy (i also tried an mpc 60 formated floppy but it didn't work).The editor exports the files to the floppy but when i insert the floppy to the mpc 60 drive , the mpc says that the format of this disk is wrong.

P.S :Sorry for bringing this up again , i did a research of my own but i did't found any answers.Thank you in advance.

Needs to be MPC 60 formatted disk, need to export the pgm in mpc3000 format, are you using a 720k disk? you may need two or 3 to fit the pgm.

Might be a bad disk as well.

I have used several HD disks.I also tried to use an MPC 60 formatted disk but when i chose the "export" command the editor ask me to format it under windows.Is there a chance that the problem is with win XP?Maybe i just have to try my luck with WIN 98.

HD disks are incorrect and will damage your Disk drive, use DD disks.

Otherwise, if you don't value your disk drive, you can cover the hole in the HD disk without the switch in it and the 60 should read it. But That's a bad practice.

So far i am using hd disks with my 60 and all its ok.I just have problems with the "export" of the mpc editor.Don't you think its WIN xp problem?
Besides that where can i get dd disks.I tried ebay and all i get are the old big 500kb ss-dd disks.

keep checking ebay, you'll get 50-100 of them for about $20.

try formatting the disk as a 720k disk, that might work. Do you have the latest editor?

not sure what your problem is, but only use mpc formatted disks, xp should read them fine, or maybe try the registry entry at midicase for the 3000, I have that on my pc, as long as I've had xp.

You can use HD disk, DD disk are preferred though. Try putting a piece of tape over the hole on the right hand side of the disk, format it in your MPC 60 and then put it in windows XP and export your program as a MPC3000 .pgm to your floppy drive from MPC Editor and that should do it. Now it will take a long time to load the first time because it is converting to 12 bit, but once it loads re-save it make sure you have it set to replace same sounds if not it will take longer to load everytime.
