Sampling 78's

I recently came across about 500, 78's. Some good ish too, old doo wop, jazz, ass load of standards. but I was wondering if any one here has tried to sample 78's? And if so how was the fidelity? and how did you do it?

dirty drums and loops thats how they sound run that sh@#!put them through your sompler and find out homez!

what's 78's? a "format" for `vinyl?

yeah u have 45 rpm records which are the tiny ones with maybe a track on side a and b. then 33 and 1/3 rpm records (what most of us use and sample) and 78 rpm records that only have like 6 mins per side. 78 i think was the first speed that vinyl was recorded at. And then came 45 then was takin to the next level with 33 1/3

what? i dont think anyone has any idea what ur talkin about.

dont try sampling of them. it's a real pain. I will give you my adress in a pm so you can send all the 500 pieces to me. No thnx man.."it never hurts to help"


haha nah just sample them..find out for your self. But not all of the table support 78.. google on the net for adjusting the speed how to do this etc!

45's are 7in.
33 1/3 are 12in.
78's are 10 in.

I have a few just haven't listened to them.
You could sample them at 45 then pitch em up, that will take up some memory though.
I don't know if the sound quality is that good, but whatever works.

True, I have some 45's that are 12in.
It's all about the RPM of the record, I was just saying the usual formats.
Every rule is meant to be broken, a little or alot depends.

i have a vastex handy trax that plays 78s and a 78 needle for it . got alot of good samples sound quality sucks but i think they will be good for like interludes and stuff like that
