I didnt like EMUs, i dont know why. I found some of them here, but they are overpriced here too, price is almost as a EPS. Anyway, the plan is to put whatever samples i want into my MPC, because of a memory, i have a hdd into my MPC, also using compact flash cards, and then use/remain some filters and effects from my EPS on those samples but leave them into MPC and of course after all track the project out of MPC. I hope that you will be able to understand me, because i didnt grew up in America so my english is not perfect. Anyway i think i got more ideas then these machines are capebale of :).

Peace

The only way to use the eps filters is to sample into the eps, I mean u could re sample back into the mpc but then u couldn't modulate the filter. U can use the efx im real time by going thru the input but u d have to get one of the waveboy efx disks that makes that possible u can t do it without it. Not sure if u did urr research or not on the eps but just in case u didn't know, the eps can only sample in mono It can output in stereo but not input. And the filters are non resonant.

That is one constructive answer. Yes, i know that EPSs in is mono because its just one line in. I know about resample way, also going thru version will be tracking out through EPSs outs, am i correct? (through main out, or you can track out via bus 1, bus 2 outs, i am not sure about that because i didnt use EPS still). But the thing i didnt get about waveboys efx, i heard about those but why i need those? It means that there is no effects at all in EPS so i need floppy with them or?

Yes u can track from the different outs. What i meant about the waveboy efx is that u can use the eps as an efx unit with those disks for ex route one of the outs from mp to the in of eps then to daw or mixer and have the eps as an efx unit but while keeping the samples in the mpc. I was just confused about you saying u wanted to keep the samples in the mp but use the eps filters and efx. U could use the efx without having to sample into the eps with the disk however not the filter. And no u dont need the waveboy disk for efx on the eps if u r sampling into it only if u want to use it as an efx unit. Oh yah and the eps does not support wav. or snd. files it uses a proprietary file format. So no way to transfer to and from mpc without sampling. Or getting a translator program for ure computer(but i kno nothing about those so can t help u there.)

Just paid 300 including shipping for a Turbo model (flash rom/scsi).

I wouldn't pay more then that. Might have to wait till one for a good price comes up.

But I can PM you a link (PM'ing because putting on blast would defeat the purpose) you might be interested in.

So options are if you dont have enough memory on your EPS:

A) Resample from MPC to EPS, use whatever you need in EPS, then resample it again to MPC and keep that modulated file.

B) Use real time option to just pass through EPS from MPC directly to DAW.

C) Use wave efx to modulate sound of a sample, to use it as a effects unit, but still have those samples in MPC, so logicly resampling is bypassed here.

D) Filters works only if i am using first two options.

E) Resampling is the weapon of choice acutally, because of EPS doesnt support same files as MPC.

Thank you for the answer it was constructive. My technical english is not best, excuse me for that.

Nice offer you get, turbo model for less then its mine without all these richy rich accessories. Send link, no problem.

a) yes but i would sample from the source directly to eps then resample into mpc.

b)no this is not possible, the input is only audible thru the eps outs while the sampling is armed. Cannot route it to another output other then the main and or headphone out. Wouldnt be useful anyways u cannot assign a filter or efx while in record mode.

c)yes resampling is bypassed (the ins and outs of how the efx disk configures the routing options i am not privy to, don t have it mayb someone els can help).

d)filters can only b assigned to sounds that have been sampled into the eps and are being triggered from the eps.

If you dont mind using multiple floppies and low sample rates its not a big deal. At 22khz sampling rate u get 44 secs at 29 , 35 secs, at 44, 22 secs. Using the pitch up sample then pitch down thats quite a bit of time (assuming u have the max ram). U can copy samples with out using up ram. But ull end up with quite the collection of floppies and deal with the slow loading times.
