Mpc Renaissance sample record issues

So i am having trouble with sample record mode on the ren. These issue happen both when I use the mic inputs and the RCA inputs. I can hear sound coming through even when the monitor is off, which I know is not supposed to happen. When I press record it says it is waiting for signal even though the levels show it is recieving sound and I can hear sound coming through. when I press record again it will record, but then the sample will have no sound on it. Has anyone else experienced this or have any suggestions?

burritoman, you might need to turn the threshold way down! It won't record until the sound passes the threshold.
