I am new to the MPC and i'm having difficulty understanding a few things. To start off, i'll tell you my setup. I have a DJ mixer, Preamp, Turntable, and the MPC 2000XL. The master RCA output on my DJ mixer is connected to the Record In on the MPC (i'm using 1/4 RCA adapters). when i go to sample off my turntable, there is a very weak signal meaning that the audio signal doesn't even pass the threshold of -20. both the left and right channel have this problem, the audio signal only reaches halfway between the start and the -20 threshold mark. i have seen videos on Youtube where when people sample it passes the threshold with ease. Even when i turn the Record gain on the MPC on max and the master volume from my DJ mixer on max, the signal is still weak. I have a gemini XL-300 turntable if that helps the cause of the problem i'm having. My next question is how do i make sound playback to me out of the MPC? my DJ mixer is connected to my preamp so that sound can be produced from my speakers (which are not RCA but rather speaker wire format). There is no speaker wire compatibility on my DJ mixer (all RCA) so i have no way of making sound come through the mixer alone. Is it recommended that i buy separate RCA speaker monitors and connect it directly into the MPC in the stereo out? i don't want of have two sets of speakers because it's just too much. Help is appreciated thanks.
