Anyone grab any of the year-end sales?

I got Korg Gadget with the two new Gadgets (Bilbao and Abu Dhabi). Makes me not wanna **** with my hardware anymore. I better throw dust covers over my gear. But eventually, I'll come back to my MPC and my SP when I get a MIDI interface.

I might pass on Sugar Bytes Egoist. Looks like I can do more with Abu Dhabi.

I had to grab all 3 of the Arturia synths. iProphet, iSEM, and iMini were all worth the money. iSEM is probably my favorite out of the 3.

Thor is the bomb. I really get in the zone with it right away. I'm looking forward to making patches to use in Reason at some point.

ReBirth is still cool as hell. Even more fun on the iPad than on the PC.

I haven't bought Animoog or Magellan for the iPad yet. I've had the iPhone versions for a while. So I'll wait till Animoog is on sale. I might grab Magellan now since I see it's $5 right now.

Even though I missed the sale on Waldorf Nave, I'm still tempted to buy it now. Too bad I forgot while it was 50% off till Demember 1st. But it looks like it's worth dropping a 20 on.

Yeah I'm not gonna sleep on Magellan. I always liked the iPhone version. So it'll be a lot better, the way it's set up on the iPad.

Since Thor first came out for the iPad, I knew it would be even more fun than using it in Reason. It's like it was meant to be used with a touchscreen from the jump. So it's very fluid, even while the sections fold and expand.

All the Waldorf hardware and software always appealed to me. I wanted a Blofeld a few years ago and never bought it. I demoed the Largo VST back then and loved it. But I never bought that either. So I'm taking the plunge with Nave since it has all the wave tables of the Blofed. I can't go wrong. Ive been drooling over it long enough.

I gotta find out if all my in-app purchases can be shared between the Animoog and Animoog for iPhone. I hope I don't get **** on that since I bought all of them.

Last night, I finally pulled the trigger on Waldorf Nave. It was totally worth the money. The waveform display is beautiful. All the controls are laid out nicely and everything is sized just right for the iPad Mini. The sound is out of this world. I haven't listened to all the presets. But the ones I heard are heavenly. I spent most of my time making my own sounds, and ended up in a time warp till 4 AM. This is definitely my favorite synth of all... Better than any VST, RE, and even hardware.

Yeah I agree. I can do so much more for less money and not even have to be anywhere near my studio gear. I love the fact that I can tweak synths and samples from the comfort of my couch, export Thor patches to load up in Reason, bounce audio tracks from Gadget, and the list goes on. The iPad is the most diverse and powerful tool for the studio. I don't need any more hardware except for a MIDI interface.... Maybe a small controller like the Novation Launchkey 25 Mini.

iSEM is the shit!

Z3TA+ looks good... 6 oscillators and 6 LFOs is sweet. My brother has Z3TA+ included with his version of Sonar. I tried it a while ago and liked it. So I'll add this to the list.

iVCS3 really is the best synth I've seen for the iPad. All the most tripped out shit from back in the day was made with the original VCS3 by Pink Floyd, The Who, Brian Eno, and others. The reviews are outstanding coming from people who used the original VCS3 extensively and professionally. The interface is a ton of fun and it sounds amazing. So I just bought it now and it lives up to all the reviews. I highly recommend it. There's a manual in the app which is very user-friendly. Everything about this app just invites you right into the zone of another world this synth creates.

Word up iPad masterz...

I am on the fence, straddled uncomfortably between an iPad and the Streichfett.

I adore stringy synths and the Waldorf has my attention. On the other hand... a semi-loaded iPad as a sound module/sampler food is becoming more and more the best route. I am aware of a few synths (Animoog, etc) but I am wondering if there are any string-synth apps that can stand up to the Waldorf's emulation.

If there is such an app... consider me sold! I will be doing research as well as looking through past posts in this thread. I greatly appreciate the help, y'all.

I haven't seen anything similar to Streichfett. But you'll get a lot more use out of an iPad. A lot of these apps are better than VSTs and much cheaper too.
