looking for bass sound suitable for hip-hip with AKAI VSTIs

You guys.. There is no hip hop bass. There is no differance in bass sounds to genre. I know you mean bass sounds generally used with hip hop. That's if you want to narrow your self down to what some sample bank creators calls "hip hop bass".

Is any of the bass lines we pull from under our samples (by filtering) hip hop?

Not at all. Those are basses used in jazz,rock,soul,funk,gospel,folk,and country.

So if your looking for a vst to give you only hiphop bass. Your going to have a limited range of basses.

Trillian is the sampled-base, bass of all basses. The best in my simple opinion. The sounds are amazing and very very tweak able. There are hundreds of basses. And they are real. Most are actuall played samples. With a choice to balance direct or mic,d with wet dry knobs. Hands down my favorite. But I just got dope vst, and I'll's rumpshaker. So I'm into the new toys for the moment. But they are limited to a few dozen sounds directed to be "hip hop" when trillian can go anywhere.

If your low budget, or broke, or just getting into this. Trillian is a big commitment. Maybe something later down road. Dope vst is a very good "free" start. I got mine included with a sample pack of theirs.

Yeah from what i heard of trillian while messing with it was just more upright sounding basses while other synth basses and dopevst focus more on as you said rump shaker bass which for me is more useful. Although i will prob end up getting trillian just because i already have omnisphere.

Ah man you missed the other stuff. They got all the moog and old keyboards and synths too. Instead of it recreating the old hardware sound they actually recorded the old hardware. It's got all the normal popular old keyboard bass too. It's just all sample basses (recorded) so the library is fat. It has a dedicated efx section. And just basic sine waves. It's really the all go to. I feel when I use presets I need to change them. Even if slightly. Generally with trill. I get a sound from the large library. Then stack a sine wave and wix them together. But if you have omni then you know. And it will come quick. Same interface. I'm really diggin rump and dope cause, you don't get to tweek as much. Just pick, slight eq/filter and nice new, sounds.

Hip Hop never had expansions or sample paks! Hip Hop flips other genre paks! Don't get it twisted

Yup I own this and it is very hip hop. It's exactly why I grabbed it.

WTF is hiphip? I know Hiphop and have been listening to it for 25+ years but Hiphip?

Requires some tweaking but does HH Bass well - even out of the box.

To the TC - you should try looking no further than fiddling with the resident VST in 1.7 ... does Bass quite well.
