Hey guys. Nice to be on the forums and since I'm new here I've got a question to ask. I recently bought a second hand MPC 2500 with JJOS128xl installed (my first MPC) and i saw that it is version 1.03. On the JJOS site there is ver. 1.51, so I want to know if I can load the OS update file to the built-in hard drive and execute it from there or do I have to get a CF card and update from it. :hmmm: Is it ok to load the OS update file to the hard disc and update from it? Cheers.

Hey. I updated and the new version looks really neat, but it seems to have lost it's activation password. I read somewhere that the MPC stores activation passwords and one could change OSs with single activation only. Does this apply to updating the OS or I have to renew my OS activation with every update? And is there a way ro retrieve the old password from the MPC itself or maybe downgrade to the previous version without actually having the installation file?

Hi,
Sorry but that probably means that the previous owner never bought the paying OS for the big screen and was just using the free version.

Thanks for the answers guys. Finally I also read the FAQ topic too and found everything I needed there. Guess one really has to read these topics first. I activated my 128xl version and it's really superior than the other one I had before. Anyway thanks again and see you around. :)
