Hi all, so I just picked up an s1000 that seems to be in reasonably good shape. It comes with a floppy with some basic samples on it.

I'm having an issue though: Basically it starts up fine. The samples on the floppy load and play fine, and sampling into the inputs and playing back sounds fine. After about 10 minutes of use however, the samples become completely garbled and distorted. This applies to both the samples on the disk, as well as anything I sample in.

Anyone have any advice?

OK, I think I just confirmed it's a bad RAM card. It has 8 Mwords (16 Megs), however, one of the times i booted up, it said "4 M words" instead, and it worked flawlessly.

I tried reseating again with no luck. Is there anything else I can try or anything I should look for?

Thanks. I found the manual and these are the results I get

So seems like that second one is no good. Does this mean the card is worthless? Or is there anything I can look into? Is it possible that the slot has issues?

the s1000 has a service menu that can tell you which ram card is bad.
