Is it Possible to get a Audio Template into MPC Studio Softw

Hey Guys,

I want to bring in either a WAV or MP3 file, that is a recording of my drumming... because I want to use that recording ONLY as a template to build MPC style beats on top of.

In other words I want to compose my drum beats on real drums (easier for me), bring in a recording, BUT then, use that to guide me in recreating the beats with the sounds of MPC.

Is there any way to do this?

I tried a workaround:

I brought in a sample of the drumming audio file into MPC in the Sampler, BUT the problem is, when I trigger that sample it plays to completion every time, and I can't figure out how to stop its playback when I don't need to hear it anymore. It gets irritating.

Is there a way to stop the playback of these longer samples? If I can do that I'll have a workaround. But if I can bring in a WAV and put it on a track that would be better...

I'm a little new to the Platform...

I did figure out you can double click the STOP button on the hardware/software and the long sample stops playback.

I would still love to get audio into these tracks...
