Figuring out how to change playback speed

Anyone knows how to change playback speed of samples without pitch shifting? I'm attempting to insert an intro song, which needs to play a little bit faster. I found that dialing SEMI on the program edit menu can speed up playback but it will, at the same time, increase the pitch on the sample intro as I dial it so when the intro goes to next seq, I hear it's sort of disharmonious in terms of the pitch.

I don't know if the Renaissance has time stretch but thats a way to go to change speed without altering pitch.

All DAW's should have this, like Pro Tools for example.

Why does the intro need to be faster BTW? As long as the samples are the same pitch all should be good, unless you have some creative purpose for the intro to be a faster tempo.

It sounds like my actual work is a little bit faster than the intro song. When I listen hip-hop songs which include an intro song, their BPM is exactly on a par with the intro. This is not a big issue for me but I was just wondering if MPC ren has a function which allows me to control the playback speed. If I adjust my actual song's BPM to the intro song, the whole song will play slowly. Anyway, thank you for the answer

OK I see what your saying, it's very common in ALL music that tempos will slightly vary throughout the song, even drastic changes in tempo are not uncommon especially in a songs various sections.

For Hip Hop which is created in a digital enviroment (in a sequencer) again there are no hard defined rules. So don't worry about tempo differences in various sections of a song as long as the samples pitches are in tune, this happens all the time.

As a general rule, if you have multiple sequences for a verse, try not to have the tempos drastically different from each other within the SAME section of a song, because that can disrupt a rappers flow if there is a sudden change, although even that could potentially work.

But with regard to OTHER sections of the song, hooks, verses, intros, outros, bridges etc. They can all differ in tempo from each other, its not a big deal at all. Just be mindful of how all the sections sound/feel when they transition into each other.
