Connecting a Staton Turntable

Ay, peeps. So, I've had my Staton T.62 turntable for about a couple weeks or so, now. And, I can't seem to figure out how to set it up with my Renaissance for playback/record purposes. Keep in mind, I'm still a newbie when it comes to the world of MPC. So, if any of you out there could assist me, that would be great!

The Ren has phono pre-amp built in, so you just need to connect the L/R output of your turntable into the phono inputs at the back of the Ren. Switch the level from 'Line' to 'Phono' on that swich at the back. Now connect the ground from your turntable to the ground on your Ren. Go to RECORD and sample away.

How do I connect a "GROUND"?

Never mind, I actually figured it out. Thank you for your help, man! I really do appreciate it!

Ground it by connecting a single wire from the TT to something metal, ren happens to have designated screw in the back for this purpose...big silver nut

The ground is a wire that you connect from a turntable to the MPC (or mixer), without it you may hear a loud hum when recording. You should have a ground wire already with your turntable. Check the turntable manual for more details on this, the T.62 definitely needs a ground.

Yeah, soon after when I seen I should have something "metal", I checked both my turntable and Renaissance, and seen they both had it on there already. Thank you again, for all of your help and support! I really do appreciate.

A brief question:

Do I need a cable with a rather high or a rather low resistance there? Since I bought my turntables used and they didn't come with any ground cable, I was just wondering... Any experience on that?
