Best/favorite DAW for the Renaissance..?

Right now it's Studio One.

i m a longtime cubase user now on version 8.
. I also have a reaper license til version 4.99 it s s great daw but I m too much a cubase user and I always come back to it. I also bought ableton last year used and love it.
I also bought reason 6.5 during a summer used...it was so cheap that I had to buy it!!! the reason instruments are still awesome !!the modular part is the best thing in reason but I only use it over rewire

there is no best daw you have figure out which fits best to your workflow...don t listen to marketing try them out on your own !!

Has anyone tried it in Bitwig?

Reaper

So, for you who have used both Reaper and Bitwig -- which one do you prefer?

Only used bitwig when it first dropped.(officially) demo version.

Didn't really think much of it. (in conjunction with mpc software)
IT didn't compare to reapers routing and mixing options... Not sure how its going now?

I prefer reaper with rearoute and the mpc software... You have more flexibility than any daw when running it like this... Rearoute allows you to use the ren just like it was a hardware mpc with 16 stereo outputs(32 mono)....
Because its running standalone and not as a plugin, you dont lose transport control of the mpc, but you still have better mixing and plugin stability with reaper...

Even though it would be a a slight departure from the old MPC workflow I would like to use just the Ren as a self contained DAW.

That doesn't mean it has to be a giant code hairball like Cubase. It could just include enough features to be a one box solution so you didn't have to use/learn other software if you didn't want to.

Of course if you want to get OCD and polish all the details there are still the current outsourcing options available. Personally I like the slightly raw, human tracks the MPC flow tends to encourage. More likely to actally finish tracks, warts and all instead of endlessly polishing the proverbial turd.

Better to know if a song idea is working sooner rather than later. It's almost there now with 1.8 so hopefully that will come around the 2.0 mark.

I think it is already that. An older mpc with vitamins.
