MPC-MAID (program file?)

I'm new here and new to MPC. I have the Akai MPC 500. Lots of confusion but slowly learning from the manual and forums. sorry if this question has been addressed.(i searched and could not find it.) in mpc maid it says to drop a program file into it. where does the file come from? the mpc? because that seems like it defeats the purpose of using software.Thanks in advance!

i hit up the mpc maid guy a few days ago to see if he could implement midi, so u can control the pads via the mpc with a midi to usb cable. he said he had no plans to do so but if i know someone who can code they can add it… does anyone here know how to code????
