Effects and knobs

When you load a virtual instrument you get to decide what qlink will affect what parameter. How is it with the effects, if you load them as an insert for instance? The manual isn't very clear. It just says you can press "window" and edit them.
I can assign them for the qlinks but that will be the uber master qlinks layout .. performance mode maybe it's called? But im thinking of the inserts for each pad or program. Surely you must be able to edit them from the hardware?
For instance - if i load an eq with four bands, 2 shelves, 2 peak. Can i change the layout so it's more logic (ie bass at bottom row)? (not talking performance mode)

I hope my question was ... ehm.. clear Hard to describe though!

If you need 280 pages of tutorials to teach you the mpc software what the manual doesn't explain ........ It's not the most complicated of softwares, is it?

Maybe someone else can answer my question just as i freely answer other people's questions when i can.. which is something i love to do and i do it as often as i can. Free spreading of knowledge - the foundation of civilization.

it's not that the software is that complicated.... it's like you teaching yourself how to drive a car (the manual) you will still need expert help (the tutorial) if you want to learn how to become a race car driver. i mean no disrespect but SD was only trying to point you in the right direction that alot of people on here already did. They bought the tut from here. it may explain a lot of things the manual did/could not show you.

I know i triggered but it was a simple question about a very specific issue. It's like asking if you can open the doors while driving or if the car must be standing still and then get adviced to take driving lessons :p Ok, maybe that would be appropriate in that situation

The question remains though, can you mapp the effects just like you can with soft synths (other than in performance qlink mode). I really doubt that tutorial will answer that. Anyway, i will find this out for myself tomorrow

so lets say you are on track one. main screen. and there is a drum break sample chopped up on 1-8 {pads}.

lets say you want an effect on the insert of that program or pad, and you want to control those parameters.

hold shift and hit effects.

from here you can put effects on the track or the individual pads. lets say insert on track.

press GO>TrkMix

press Insert Tab.

choose track one with curser, where you have drum break.

now scroll with data wheel. pulls up vst/effect window. choose one.

{your curser is high lighting the chosen plug-in you picked.}

Now press window again.

There are your option to change params and it pops the vst window up so you can see on comp screen.

now when you find out how to make the VST instrument pop up from hardware. [plug-in instrument not an effect} let me know. i can't figure out how. probably in front my face.

Alright, so now i have the Renaissance here. I freakin' love it! It has the work flow feel i like from my S5000 and the sequencer just gels with me!
Effect editing is beyond amazing! You get to see the actual values! Not as with machine where it's 0-127. No, here you see the actual Hz if there's a filter. I could even successfully use Permut8 without even being close to my computer. The only time i got up and walked to my computer was when i needed to enter a file name to save. Adding effects, sampling, chopping ... So easy and intuitive
