Footswitch?

Hi! This is my first post. I just buy an Akai MPC Renaissance. I've been looking around but I didn't find anything about it on the forum.
What can the footswitch connector do? I mean, can I go from one bank to another? I'd love to use my MPC live while I play guitar, so, feet work.
Do you recommend any footswitch? A channel selector from a guitar amplifier would do the job?
