ive been seeing a few of these used for what i think are good prices, and im thinking about copping one... i just wanted to ask you guys on here what would be a good price for a used one in good condition... i plan on getting one with the USB card, either that or ill just upgrade it myself, ive seen the USB cards go for like $129 brand new... i also found a spot where i can fully upgrade the RAM(256mbs i think) for like $65 dollars... so it seems to me like if i can find a nice used one for a decent price itll really be worth it...

I've got one. I purchased mine when they first came out in 1999 for S1499.00. I have a SCSI Zip drive, the USB, and 44 megs of memory installed. And with 44 megs sample time is 7:49 (Mono) or 3.53 (Stereo). A piece you won't be sorry you copped if you get it. Ultra clean sampling and you can sample from any source (Analog, Digital, Optical, ADAT, etc) directly. USB transfers between the S-5000 & PC are super fast using AKSYS.
