Thinking of selling my Ren for a 60 II

Long time reader first time poster (I read the manual and used the search feature on the forum!). Thank you everyone for the help over the years, this place is a gold mine!

I am having the same problem because my MPC Studio has just packed in and I am not in a position to return it to the retailer (I have moved countries!), and I was thinking a similar thing.

Why not get an MPC60 but keep the REN? Because they are cross compatible, this means you would get the typical MPC60 sound you'd expect plus the facility of sequencing on the MPC software (because it doesn't need an MPC attached in the most recent versions).

Granted it is a more expensive option, but you need to ask whether you are willing to pay the money to get both the facility and the sound.

Sell the Ren while you can. Ren2 about to enter.

Whatever your beats sound like now on the REN will sound almost identical on the 60 but with the coloring of the the 60 sample engine.

Do not buy a piece of gear because DJ Premier uses it and think that you'll have his sound (which can be a plus or a negative depending on opinion and how much of a fanboy people are).

Sell the REN if you're sick of it and can turn a profit. Buy the 60 only if you know for sure that it would be easy to sell provided it isn't f-cked up and requires any other financial maintenance.

If you can, keep both the REN and the 60 during the transition and gauge what you want to do. Don't worry, your REN won't accuse you of cheating on you for it.
