Hey folks great forum...this is my 1st post.. I am pretty experieced w/ my 3000...question is...

whenever I reset everything such as delete all sounds and even intialize all programs....my filter settings and decay setting wont go back to normal.

For example as my factory preset I want attack and deacy to be at 0. But My deacy always is at 18 even after I reset everything. How Can I fix this??

I'm rusty, but try the other button then initialize, decay at 18 may be default, might not be.

opening your case and youll see a battery bt the ram simms. ground it by touching both side of the battery with your fingers. im sure theres a way to do this without opening up the case...

Normal ???

What OS is in your machine ???

3.11 ???

If not.

Boot from a 3.11 ( akai ) or 3.12 ( roger linn design ) *.SYS file on floppy disk and re-init your machines parmameters from the OTHER>INIT ALL PARAMTERS option.

That should do it.

BTW: Factory "Attack" and "Decay" settings are not set to zero.

Factory default envelopes run in reverse for amplitude with a decay of "18", attack is at "0"...

If you want your machine to run with zero settings for each above all the time then you will need to reload these types of settings with your own default programs and paramaters.

Cool ?

Ahh... yeh.

My mistake. Some times I read and respond too fast through the posts :-)

Due to DOOBLAH'z MPC having a ZIP drive fitted in place of the floppy; any OS *.SYS file available for download will not be of use. Reason for this being that an MPC3000 with any of the known versions of OS in ROM doesn't allow booting of an upgraded OS *.SYS file from a SCSI drive .... only from floppy.

Now all this talk of OS versions.... and DOOBLAH'z machine. Possibly safe to say that the machine in question has 3.11 fitted already.

...and the other questions regarding default envelope settings have been commented on.

Rohan.

FWIW, the 60 with 3.10 envelopes default to 18 as well. this is a low setting that will fade out the very end of a sample hiding the cut point.
