I recently moved from fl to an mpc studio with the mpc software. I love the software but I am a little confused here. In fl studio and reaper for instance to access presets you would just click on the arrow beside the plugin and a list of presets would show up. I can't seem to find a way to access any vst presets in the mpc software, aside from plugins that have a pulldown menu built into the gui. Any help is much appreciated!

If your vst's are instruments or just efx. And if they have presets. Those preset lists will be found on the vst's GUI.

I wish that were the case, but not all vsts are like that... see in the pic below in pro tools above the plugin there is a pulldown list for the presets, in fl studio they are accessed by clicking on an arrow beside the plugin name in the mixer and in reaper they are accessed in the plugins window for the track they are on. In the mpc software I don't see a way to access these presets. Not all vsts have a pulldown in the gui unfortunately

in pro tools, you see the plugin has an area above where you can select presets, where as in the version open in the mpc software there is none

so far this is the only compalint I have about the mpc software is that unless the vst gui has a built in dropdown/area for selecting the presets they cant be accessed unless I'm missing something

I agree I'd like a faster way of working with presets, some of us actually create our own sounds and would like access to them faster. I'd like to at least see an option open up in the browser for plugins and presets, much like Hybrid is, but even it's pretty awful without a tag system.

Akai definitely will do it, their new keyboards coming out make that clear. Hopefully this spews over to the Mpc software soon.

If NI does it,Akai does it,so it seems.. Good ideas to workflow never hurt.

Of course that could be a stupid hint as well.

agreed, and I only use presets in some scenarios as a starting point, only having to tweak minimally, speeds up my work flow. for instance I have several of my own presets saved in eq and compressor vsts for diff drums/bass styles/sounds and its kind of a pain to have to do it all from scratch every time...

Granted i'm not the most knowledgable MP user here (far from it), I must say that I dislike this option. There are tons of VSTs out there that allow you to create your own presets for later use (Massive and Nexus to name a couple), and not using presets would mean that that functionality is no longer applicable. While im definitely not trying to pick a fight with anyone here (or Akai for that matter), I think that a bug that prohibits you from using presets sucks :| .

For better or worse, there are a lot of presets that I have used in the past that I can't now. If it's not in the GUI, we're SOL? Has this been reported in a bug thread? I feel like this is a serious problem.
