I have a turntable without onboard panning controls, and when samping - especially older recordings, it would be good to separate the left and right channels to assess the mix and how easy it will be to, for example, separate the bass track.

You can 'monitor' when in sample record mode, but I can't see any way to pan from either the MPC or the software. I guess I could do it with the Mac's sound mixer, but thats a bit of a pain.

I just feel that I'm missing something stupidly obvious, and I know you can do it in prog edit once you have the sample, but is there a way of panning when monitoring?

Thanks

Yeah you both have the same problem you didn't RTFM.
You have a Left and Right buttons that you can engage and disengage.
The problem here, that should be solved in 1.8 as mentioned by masada in his first vid, is that even if you engage only one channel it will record in stereo, one side muted, instead of mono.
