good decent turntables under $200?

i want to start sampling vinyls but my budget is under $200..any suggestions on good decent turntables under my budget?

Look for any Technics direct drive turntable with an S shaped tone arm. Also make sure it's fully manual. A few models to look for are the SL-1500, SL-1800, SL-5100, SL-D1, SL-2000, SL-Q1.

You can use any turntable you like. You can even get a 10 dollar one off ebay (one that works tho obviously) but you don't need anything special. Its just a needle, a magnet, some wires and a motor. And that's if your ONLY using it for sampling.

There's plenty of usable turntables for under $200. Just make sure you can upgrade the cartridge something decent, like an Ortofon, and it will sound a thousand times better.

get a seccondhand cheap dj turntable, better if its direct drive rather than belt drive but its not a deal breaker for sampling

dj turntables have replaceable headshells, pitch control, and many (apart from the technics)have 78rpm. some even play backwards.(numark, stanton etc)

look at local pawn shops, second hand shops etc, ebay. you should be able to get a basic dj turntable for very little. on ebay you'll probably pay more for postage than for the turntable itself.

if you want to buy new then lots of people are perfectly happy with the vestax handytrax and the numark pt-01(?) portable turntables.

Look for a turntable with:
-S-shaped tone arm
-Anti-skate
-Cueing mechanism

You can get an Audio-Technica LP120 new for around $200. Good turntable with lots of features. But as others have mentioned here, the cartridge is far more important.
