I know what sketchy means, but it's not descriptive to anything.
So I'm asking, does a wire look or feel loose, is a clip on the plastic broken, is it a cut on the wire, ect. Photos would be the best way.
You'll want to test those connectors first. From point A of the ribbon cable, then into the tip of the connector, that way you can see if any contact is being made at all. You can buy a molex that will fit, from any electronics part sellers. Most should have a decent selection. There super easy to fix too. But its not a good idea to make blind swaps, so that's why I say test the cables first.
