Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

I went from a 2kxl to my 4k which i love but the one thing i wish the 4000 had is the function found in the xl and that is the ability to step sequence without going into the sequencer menu. infact i dont even think the 2k says you can do this in the manual not sure. I do know that if you just hold the record button while pushing a pad it will step that note in and you can continue to hold record while stepping with the direction arrows back and forth thus placing your note via pad anywhere. Its like live step sequencing .

cant you note repeat/timing correction or whats its called and then just record it in there that way? should be faster and same result

you can use the note repeat but what i mean is that little function that the 2000xl has is cool. not a big deal but i just wish th 4000 had it.
