ive always got ideas that havent been implimented yet requested so i guess they are cons..
ie.. how about shift+pad to select track to work on.. i get bored going to main screen to select the track to work on or play on a keyboard.
really buggin on the minimal effect slots, especially on the master..( possibly as i produce on standalone to perform live on standalone..)
yes byass on effects instead of entire slots..
also how about effects chain saving.. this is a workflow necessity if we want to just drop our favourite processing as we usually do with signals..
still no Bus groups.. we need min 10 to process the signals efficiently for DAW reasons..
as for mixdown to MPC hardware, why must we select each program individually? im assuming it would be easier on us old school MPC producers & performers to just bounce the entire project down then we could choose what we use if necessary..
MIdi sync on only 2 midi outputs? massive oversight..

& how about telling us the difference between Bit audio & core Audio..?& while at it why the difference & its benefits in varied situations.. :WTF:

as for Pros, insert effects on recording is dope! Big UP
chords on pads are opening my eyes to much more than i knew before~!
non dest chop is gonna get me sampling better in flow..manual chop is gr8!

respect to what youve done & what you will do for me ing the future! :smoker:

I LOVE IT. I STILL WOULD LIKE TO SEE CROSSFADE LOOPING LIKE THE MPC 4000 HAD, A BYPASS BUTTON FOR FX AND IT WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL IF WE COULD HAVE A SAMPLE/LOOP KEEP PLAYING WHILE WE ADJUST START AND END POINTS IN REAL TIME. AKAI IS BACK ON TOP. THE MPC 1.8 UPDATE IS MIND BLOWING TO ME. THE POSSIBILITIES OF WHAT YOU CAN DO NOW ARE UNLIMITED IN MY EYES. VERY IMPRESSED WITH PETE, GEOFF, DAN, JOEY, HELLFIRE, MASADA, THE ENTIRE AKAI TEAM AND ALL BETA TESTERS!!! :worthy:

Now..messed around a bit further tonight and WOAH!

This is a new level of beast machinery. The way insert fx on resampling and the NDC chop has been implemented has opened a world of creative mayhem.

Did anyone notice legato slipped in if you press shift and T.C (F1) ???

The chord feature is sweeeeeeet :worthy:

Tomorrow I'll put together a track and see just how stable it is when I put the thing to work and 'rock the box' so to speak.

I know 1.8.1 is dropping very soon which should address some bug fixes (i hope & pray) but this version has seen the Renaissance leap a couple major steps forward and give a huge hint as to how it could develop in the future and of course for 2.0.

Mega respects Akai.

Dope joint, loving everything about the update especially the chord mode. I think it needs more chord progressions and intervals...(I think I'm saying it correctly). Anyway great update thanks to the beta testers and akai for this. Now lets get rewire on 1.9 akai.

The chopping...oh man..the chopping! I don't chop conventionally and look for sounds within the sounds to make rhythms and sound effects and the way Akai have implemented this non destructive and active chopping is phenomenal. Totally way above what I thought might be introduced.

Please get the bug fixes addressed asap as it's a travesty to have such an incredible ( I don't use the word lightly) update not get its proper due.

Thanks to everyone involved, beta testers included. Great job and very creative ideas which will help spark the creativity of us users to a whole other level.

Bravo!! Bravo!!! :worthy:

pros -for me is being able to double, that was my feature request on the Akai forum, I love that about Machine (which days are #).

cons- still can't name from hardware
2 of my tracks will not load ? I may have figured out why.

Eyalc wrote:Probably related to my workflow, but not liking how export works right now. If I want to export to audio for tracking in a DAW, the way the export feature works since 1.7 is :hmmm: .

In 1.6, I could go into song mode, and export each track as an individual wav file. Since 1.7 this feature has been removed. All I can figure out now, is that you have to have an individual sound in a program, and export audio by program instead of track. Not sure if there is a better way to do it, but this is just counter-intuitive IMO. Should be able to go into song mode, export the song by track, and get individual audio files per each track. IMO now it is WAY to complicated to achieve the same thing. I keep all of my sounds in one program - perhaps that's the problem.

Maybe I'm just not understanding, but seems like not a good implementation. If anyone has any insight into how to do this better, please enlighten me. I'm open to learn.

Yeah this is annoying. You gotta go to song mode and convert your song to one sequence. From there, leave song mode and find your newly created (merged) sequence. Then hit export and it'll have the option to explode tracks (which is what you want).

Annoying. Probably an architecture thing from the programming side. I don't know. But there's at least a workaround for now.

Peace.

I'd like to emphasize the importance of better mixer features.
I can soundflower each and every track and program to separate channels in Logic and do everything there, but it's such a pain in the neck.

Im avoiding for the moment using the mpc as plugin in a host. ideally the mpc would be the only daw running.

we need live mixing in song mode.. it's just that hat in that pad i just realized is slightly loud.
Go to mixer, turn pad down, then wanto go back to song mode, hit song, nothing happens, i can\t go back to song mode, i start hitting combinations like shift + song + bank a+b, literally streetfightin with the thing till i quit and am forced to hit stop to got back to song.

you get me i hope.

MPC as a plugin in a host is still lagging. Believe it or not, it could STILL use more virtual outs. I'd like to see the number doubled one more time. Would also love to see an option where we could turn off the MPC sequencer in plugin mode. But in general, plugin mode still needs attention, but seems like it's the secondary (or tertiary) priority at this point. But honestly, given what they've been adding, like in 1.8, I think those additions for the most part were more important than plugin mode. But hoping 1.9 at least puts some attention back to plugin mode. I'd love to be able to use this thing as a core part of my Logic workflow.

+1 for live mixing in song mode. And I've been saying that export needs improved (fixed) in song mode too.

Yeah, this is what I've been doing. Don't like it though, cause you can't undo it. So I just close the project and don't save. Painless enough, but annoying for sure.
