Exporting audio

Different DAWs depending on where/who I'm working with. I just want to be able to run off WAVs of individual tracks I have in my songs on from the Ren. I currently can do this in 1.6, but from 1.7 on I'm hearing you have to export based on programs.

No, not true. You can export each sequence as individual track WAV files, if you use the explode feature.

Correct.
Only problem with 1.8 is, that, when exporting, the old "first bar is missing"-Problem is back again

"can" versus "should" is always the consideration. This isn't realistic from both time and capability perspective, unless your sequences are very rigid and simple (nothing wrong with that) i.e. if you have sounds that start in one sequence and flow into the next, this approach doesn't work, though for a more simple composition where everything starts on the 1 and ends cleanly at the end of a sequence, this would work fine... except time of course.

If you have a song with 14 sequences, this approach would be a waste of valuable time. 1.6 approached export the right way. I always say this... if you're composing beats with kick, snare, hihat and a sample, and have 2 or 3 sequences, the MPC is tailor made for you. My songs average about 24 tracks and 14 sequences. I have to be able to export seprate wavs quickly, from song mode, but the current versions of the MPC don't allow that.

Quickest way to export right now is to combine sequences into one, but can't undo that because once you do - sequence-based editing of the song is now out the window.

Convert song into sequence then explode.

I'm not really seeking a work-around. There are a few. But it shouldn't have to be that way, especially when the software used to handle it the right way. I'd rather have the old mixer approach and be able to export in song mode, than the new mixer approach and have to employ workarounds to achieve the same result. Which is why I'm still on 1.6.

Logic Pro X.

This works fine as long as you don't have a sound that starts in one sequence and ends in the next. Once you do, this doesn't work. Think of a swell cymbal for example. Starts in one sequence and trails off into the next.

+1 my mixing task has come to a stand because of the long extra work arounds. I mean i am making more tracks but the more i make the more unprofessional my sound is. i might as well stay on a mpc 4000 then track in to my daw. Or keep it all in the ren software in which it is not a full daw yet. so cant mix how i would like to Yet

The best export system I ever worked with was with Phrazor a now abandoned program. The developer left to work on Kore with NI.
With Phrazor you just selected render to tracks, and boom done!
Perfect system! Maybe the Akai developers can add this functionality at some point to the mpc ren software?
