Significant Audio Latency...Help!!!

After updating to 1.8 I am having a large amount of latency. I have adjusted the buffer size and it does not help. Any hacks to abolish latency?

That did the trick. Then after letting it sit for an hour, it did it again. I am thinking the cache is getting full when the program sits.

This sounds like app nap is active. Since MPC app (at least on my machines) doesn't have a tickbox for preventing it under Info (CMD+I) you might need to deactivate it via terminal. Check out the following link for more information.

Also, make sure you're running it in 64 bit mode and not in 32 bit mode, since in 32 bit it can only address 4GB of RAM.
