MPC & PC Question

I'd just like to know the advantages of working with the mpc connected to a PC(via MIDI). I have logic and an MPC2kXL but have yet to link them through midi. What does it make easier? what does it do that they coulnd't do seperately?

I think the only advantage would be MIDI synching them together, so all your tracks line up (start and end at the same time) automatically, without you having to align them on your PC. I may be wrong, but I don't have my MPC hooked into my PC (sonar and cool edit) because I say the same thing; "whats the point?"

Anyone that doeshave thier shtuff linked together have any feedback on this issue? We need the other side of this explained.

In logic, go to syncronization > Midi > Transmit Midi Clock > set to the port that the MPC is on and check the box.

In the MPC go to Shift 9 > Mode > set to Midi Clock on the input that is connected to the computer.

Press play in logic, and the MPC starts and plays at the tempo that logic is set at, press stop and the MPC stops.

there are indeeds hundreds of uses.
you could play a softsynth of any audio in your DAW and have the MPC sync'd so as to write a beat to it.

or have the MPC as master and use the MPC as a tranport, ie to control the DAW.

or with MPC as master to your DAW and other gear you can let your creative muscle felx and go nuts.
