i would like to concentrate on my keyboard skillz in 2005. how about you, production skillz, more complexed beats, better lyrics, what? lets not focus in on any equiment but personal skillz. where would you like to be musically jan 1, 2006, about 370 days from now. what are you musical goals?

and how are you planning to achive your goals? i am planning on practicing my scales (everyday) and learning more about chords and chord progressions. basically, i want to learn to actually play the keyboard instead of programming it.

As of jan 1 2005 I intend to be better at having control over the entire picture before I start writing. Now it's more like I write something and then jam around that until the building blocks of the track present themselves. Jamming is alright, but I want to be able to have a more focused view of the creative process.

For 2005 I have many goals musically...

I want to take a thoery class and learn more about scales, chords, and harmonies. I am considering taking lessons either between piano, guitar, or bass... Not sure yet! I might take a bass lesson just to sharpen up on my skills there, since I feel bass is the most important part or any given track. Its the life and the drive of the song... Then I have a friend who plays the piano professionally that I am going to trade some knowledge to for some piano lessons...

My other goals are organization goals. I want to try keep all my beats organised better so if I sell a beat I know exactly where it is and what its called... All I need to do is load it and record it. Then i also want to have my whole studio backed up... Just in case... So I have all my files being stored on a second hard drive and then burned on to DVD's...

I also want to get some really high quality drum samples... There's that famous saying, 'Crap in is crap out." Which I do live by...

Lastly, I think I will spend more time on my tracks... i will spend more time in the overall production of the track (writing, edtting, and arranging) and then spening even more time on my mixes... These are a just a few things I want to focus on for 2005... Most of all... i just want to get my name out there, meet people, do a lot of collaborations, networking, redo my website... Man I can go for days on this shit. Bottom line is... there isnt anything else to do but keep learning and keep setting new goals...

Good luck to everyone in 2005 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Darkside Productionz...

SAMPLING, I plan to learn the fine art of sampling and make unique never before heard of drums and sounds that jump out of the speaker at you, and learn to blend my samples like the pros.

And get my lable name out there, and start using the millions of connects that I've set up. By 1/1/06 I want to be doing shows regularly.

big plans for 05, keep practicing and get better. learn the piano whole 9 like ya was sayen, after that get into bass. more complex beats, get some equipment, and overall become a 100x better producer indstead of just beat maker. people get the terms mixed up and think that just cuz they put a some drumz over a bassline, topped with a piano melody that they can call them selves producers. producers do 10x more than, if ya no wat i mean. but man overall, just get better get my name out, and to be the biggest 17 producing phenom u've ever heard.

My goals are...

Upgrading my studio on some more professional level ish...

Get a few mixtapes out by the end of the year...

Up my beat game, by spending more time creating then just putting stuff out...

and getting my name and music out to the masses..

Bussiness wise.. my goal is to get rid of the haters, and to stop working with peoples that will slow you down.

Production wise.. I want to start doing more sample based work, and move up at least two knotch in every aspect of my production skills.

I think beat making wise I'm at a good point to make some noise. I plan worrking on my overal production skills. Me and my boy who raps have save up some gees and over this year we plan to put a series of mix tapes to build some hype and later release a full studio cd. Right now ima work on my business networking skills and so on. My goal now is to give the people fully done product, no matter mixtapes, singles or full cd's. That's how I'm getting down this year.
