Hello all,
first post, nice to be here. grateful for all the resources. been making some progressive here on the mpc2500. please advise if this thread is better suited in another topic.
I have a 16 gb cf disk which i had some trouble getting the mpc to read at first, but by some miracle and patience it eventually formated the cf disk.
i got going with the mpc, have since worked on building a library or samples/drumkits/chops etc. evertyhing was going smooth until i tried connecting via usb my computer to the mpc, to load these dope mpc tutorial chapters i just bought from this site, and saw an error which read:
"Mac OS X can't repair the disk "MPC2500"!
you can still open or copy files on the disk, but you can't save changes to files on the disk. back up the disk and reformat it as soon as you can."
Basically I can't drag and copy anything onto the cf disk anymore.
So - when i go to back-up my cf disk memory, i keep getting periodic Error messages that a certain sample coudn't be found (e.g., a 909 bassdrum or some random snares from a miscellanious kit), which stops the backing-up process, so there's only a partial transfer of data files....and it becomes really difficult to tell if all my files trasnferred over. I have to keep going back and manually picking files to transfer over in clusters which is tediously slow.
Not sure what to make of the sudden demand for reformating the cf...could that have been a consequence of disconnecting my usb cable prematurely? What might cause this so I can avoid it in the future?
Thanks for your time and thoughts.
