Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

So I was on the forum reading about some problems people were having with song mode in the 1.8 software. I tried to see if I ran into any of those issues and fortunately song mode did whatever i told it to do. I use a macbook pro with mavericks os and I haven't had any problems with 1.8. Also see people are having problems with exporting stems. I made a sequence using only one program on one track. Then I pressed track explode and each sound from that program went to its own track. Then I put the sequence in song mode, made a couple inserts of the sequence, then i converted the song to one long sequence. After that I put the MPC back into main mode, went to file-export, then selected track explode and the software exported a stem for each sound even though they were all from the same program. Im not sure why people are having issues. I hope everybody find their way around software because i think its a great update. As far as PC users, I read on twitter that Pete is going to address that preference bug. Lastly to all my fellow beat makers, don't let these road blocks stop you from making the best music in the world. Back in the days they didn't have much technology and they made classics that we sample today. God Bless

I second this statement.

+1

I 3rd that statement. I guess I am just lucky cause no issues here and I have 2 mpc studio, installed to laptop that I travel with and one connected to desktop that my youngest uses. Maybe we keep it simple and don't try to use every bell and whistle, but we are both able to make music.

may I ask if you're experiencing the song mode bug that I've read about here. where sequences of different tempos are turned into one tempo when put into song mode?

Hey Technician
Try sampling something and after saying keep click on the wave window, does it crash?. To see if this is only in my computer or everywhere (I also run mac osx) please.
Thx

I don't know what to think, so then this is a bug I pray and not a change?

well I'm wondering if I should take the plunge and buy the studio or hold off. If anyone else could chime in and post up their experiences with this particular issue that would be great. Since some people seem to have it and some people don't I'm hopeful that this is just a bug that will get fixed. If this is an actual feature change then I would prefer to just stick with the mpc I have.

and just for clarity's sake the issue I'm referring to is that song mode seems to only play all of the sequences at one tempo instead of different tempos/whatever tempo is assigned to a sequence…. at least for some people this is happening.

the other piece of gear I was contemplating was the native instruments maschine but I know for a fact that you cannot have sequences of different tempos play together on maschine. It's not a bug, it's just that maschine only has the option of having a global tempo for the whole song. So I definitely cannot go that route as I need to string different tempos together in a song. I hope the mpc Studio is just waiting on a fix to address this issue.

Everything's been smooth for me besides the song mode issues (I don't use different tempos in one song much so I wouldn't have even noticed the tempo bug if I hadn't tried it)

Thanks for responding so you did try it, and it is a bug?
