You can save a project to any location on any disk. So you could have your sample library on an external drive, and your projects in their own folders on a different drive or different location on the same drive. No limitation in that respect.

You just right click a sample and save it to where ever you want. Then when you actually use the sample in a beat, save it again with the project to your projects folder. Same thing.

Not the master volume. Been pushing for this for a long time now. What I do is go to the Track Mixer (Level tab) and use the jogwheel to lower each program channel the same amount of values. I usually go by -5.00dB per channel at a time. Doesn't take too long and is something you usually have to do anyway when setting up your gain staging. If you hold the shift button while in the mixer, the LCD will display the program name so you can see what you're adjusting.
