Sound issues with MPC 2000XL

I'm having great trouble with playback volume once i sample a sound. Before i get to that there's another problem. I'm getting a very weak signal on the level meter when I'm sampling off my turntable. The signal doesn't even reach halfway to the standard -20 threshold place holder without turning my rec gain on max which i shouldn't have to. my mixer is a DJ mixer, a discontinued Tascam XS-8 DJ mixer (I don't know if that information is helpful but that's what I'm working with.) So the only way to sample my sounds is to set it to negative infinity but even when i do that, the sample comes up in the trim screen as a blue bar with no waves, it looks like one continuous loud sample which I don't know why it's doing that. I can still playback the sample but the volume is extremely low and there's a loud tv static like noise once i play it back. I'm not sure if the MPC stereo out jacks are busted or is it my mixer not passing a good signal from my turntable into my MPC. I don't want to spend money on the wrong thing because the problem isn't easy to scout when it could be various factors. My turntable is grounded into my mixer tightly too i have no issues when i play records normally, only once i play it back through my MPC. Please help.

so okay.. you know 100% the output on the dj mixer is working fine, and the turntable is fine.... so it's 100% on the mpc end of things.

does sounds in the mpc play properly that you didn't sample in? (ie: stuff you loaded from disk)

maybe a knob on the mpc is messed up?

I don't really know if the record output from my DJ mixer is working fine. It records a signal into the MPC but it's not a strong signal even with the record gain from my MPC on max. The turntable is fine because like i said, when i play records just for listening the audio is nice and clear and loud through my speakers and my turntable is connected to my DJ mixer. I don't have any sounds preloaded sounds to test that theory, everything I have are blank floppy disks. knobs are fine to my knowledge they adjust accordingly just fine depending on if i turn it up or down.

okay so take an output from the dj mixer you know for a fact it works (the one normally that goes to the speaker) and put that to the mpc instead... that way we know for a face it isn't the mixer or table.

now the next step is the cables. are you using the correct cables from the mixer to the mpc?

now the mpc.. the knobs are okay and not scratchy... maybe it's the sample inputs are messed up or that PCB is messed up? we assume it's not an issue with the output because the issue is being displayed on the waveform as well..

See this is the thing, My speakers are not RCA speakers, they have speaker wires that run into my preamp and they are clipped into the positive and negative inputs in my preamp. That is the only way i can get sound out of my system. from my preamp, i have an RCA connection which I use the CD input on my preamp that connects into the master output into my mixer (The CD input from my preamp is the only usuable input i can use because it requires no grounding like a phono input). no speaker wire inputs exist on the the MPC which you already knew that. and yes I'm using new wires i purchased 3 months ago and I'm using 1/4 RCA adapters to connect into the MPC. I remember someone saying if your record gain is too high when sampling the waveform will show up as a dark blue bar where the sample is supposed to display as a wave. but even when it was turned down below max I'm not getting a waveform. My setup is quite complicated but it should work. and what is a PCB?
