What's the deal with MPC 3K prices on ebay?

Regular white 3K's are above the 1500 mark now. I luckily found my 3K for $1000 at my local guitar center and the condition is near mint.

Are these high prices because of the Dlla Figure having a toy 3K?

Probably because people are beginning to realise they were undervalued before. The 3000 has a lot more going for it than, say, the SP1200 yet sells for half the price.

Also, many of the machines I've seen on eBay recently have some or all of the upgrades. Buyers don't tend to appreciate the added value in these upgrades though I have found.

Undervalued? I attribute the price increase of old gear due to the younger beat makers out there wanting to get the equipment that producers pose with in pictures.

Could be multiple factors contributing as of late:
-The J Dilla Figure
-Kanamit_MPC on I.G. Putting in work servicing and upgrading MPC 3000.
-MPC 3000 appears in multiple scenes on the T.V. Show Empire
-Terrace Martin using it for some production on the new Kendrick- "To Pimp a Butterfly" album
-Plus it's built great and still sounds good.

Some of it true as I bought mine back in 2012 and the price was $895 plus tax. I'm cool with Kanamit_MPC and would definitely recommend him as he help with the 3000. Still aiming to get the 3000 LE this year but yes the prices have risen of JBM has mention. Also did my research on the 3000 as I was on the 2000 and XL to me the 3000 sounded better. Also I have some experience in the audio engineering field definitely hear the difference of the machines. Wish I had bought a long time ago but glad I bought it over two years ago and been happy with it ever since.

Yes. MPC 3000 RRP was around £2700 new, IIRC. Anything selling for under £800 s/h is undervalued in my opinion unless it's been dogged.

I mean, there are s950s selling for £300+ out there. Now that is overvalued.

Shame, as usual I missed the dip. I've wanted one since 1996, couldn't afford it back in the day & didn't really need it when I could afford it. Last year I decided I wanted one again but the upward trend had already started, so I had to settle for a 2nd 2K.

Someday I'll get one. No time soon unfortunately.

Yea last year I remember seeing 3K's on good condition with a bright backlight going for 600 on ebay. At that time my funds were tied up with paying bills and on a preorder for an Analog RYTM. Hopefully markets will normalise soon. Either way I got my 3K, so I can't complain too much.
